Chase Yourself Project

Image
  Chase Yourself Project For this project, I've been asked, by my VFX teacher, to film  a short film. The project is called "Chase Yourself".  See "Chase Yourself Documents" Blog for evidence of the Tasks done. In this project, the film is about you chasing yourself. And I'd like to think of this is a way of testing our knowledge in filming, composition & editing. Task 1 - Pre-Production Documents Pre-Production is a way of planning your short film, before actually filming it. These consists of;  Treatment Plan- A way of setting out, what your short film will be like, who'll be featured in it, the basic plot, who's the targeted audience etc, Gantt Chart - A sheet to schedule each section of a project. For example you fill in with blocks when you'll be filming etc., Location Scouting - Is essential when filming. You must find & research an area suitable for your film & write the pros & cons of said location & do a risk assessme

Evolution of the Xbox (Games Design Task 17/1/22)

Evolution of the Xbox  Consoles (Games Design Task 17/1/22) The Xbox consoles made a huge breakthrough in console gaming, Microsoft has made several updates & advances through their products & Microsoft's still going strong with their latest console, Xbox Series X. Original Xbox  Microsoft launched their first, ever console in 2001. Simply titled "Xbox", Microsoft's first console was the first one to contain a Hard Drive, the ability to rip music from CDs and a Dolby Sound System installed. This console made a huge breakthrough in console gaming at the time but, players wanted something, online play. So, Microsoft introduced Xbox Live, which was launched in November 2002 to get players into online games.  However, the original Xbox did not just play games or music. The console had the ability to play DVDs, the original Xbox had the ability to be hooked up to TVs & home theatre systems which can aid in the "play DVD" feature.  Xbox 360 In direct c

 Artist Research Task (Mohammed) Harry101UK (Harry Callaghan) Harry101UK is a 3D Artist, in the UK. Harry is most known for his animations based on the memorable video game franchise, Portal. He utilises Source Filmmaker, an animation software which uses the Source engine but has recently moved on to Source 2 Filmmaker, an updated version of the original Source Filmmaker, which is present in Valve's most recent game directory, Half Life: Alyx. Harry101UK is most known for his "Meet the Cores" franchise which is a parody of the popular video game trailers for Team Fortress 2.  Harry is also known for parodying famous songs & making them Portal-themed. "This is Aperture" being one of them, which is a parody of a song from The Nightmare Before Christmas, "This is Halloween". Why his work inspires me One of the main reasons why his work is such a huge deal to me is that, he's a huge inspiration in becoming a 3D Artist as well. His work, gives me an

Playtesting Itch.io Games

Image
 Playtesting Itch.io Games Just Shut Up & Drive Shut Up & Drive is a free game on Itch.Io available for Windows & Mac. It's a 2d racing game where you've to race to the finish line in 1st place. It's a very fast pace game and you go over 200km/h.  Game Mechanics  Some of the game mechanics include; WASD to move forwards, backwards & sideways. You can crash other vehicles & overtake cars. You'll go slow if you drive off the course, in the grass or sand, depending on each level.  How it feels to play the game The gameplay feels very intense, mainly due to the fact that the car is going at a very high speed in the game, it was a very huge adrenaline rush to the system and wasn't able to cope those high speeds. Although it's a very addicting game. A Grand Story A Grand Story was another Itch.io game I playtested. It's about a lonely grandma who's living in a broken home & is expecting a letter from her grandson as it's almost Chri

Flow Diagrams

Image
  Flow Diagrams Flow diagrams, are a diagram which displays a process of a certain action or actions done by a machine like an ATM or a Self-Checkout service at a shop. Flow Diagrams can list the standard layout of an action and also, layout solutions to problems too. For practice, I've attempted two flow diagrams for an ATM and a Self-Checkout Service;

Sculpting in Blender

Image
Sculpting in Blender In Blender, our teacher showed us the sculpting tab. The Sculpting Tab in Blender is used to sculpt meshes, mainly for making realistic human models or for adding details to food models like odd crevices to a doughnut. Before getting used to Blender's Sculpting Tab, we messed around with many of the sculpting tools such as the inflate, etc., And then, for a little task, we had to have two cube meshes in the viewport. Then, I renamed both meshes, one naming "cube_low" and the other "cube_high". Then I selected mesh "cube_high", added in a Sub-Surf Modifier, and added loop cuts and brought them right to the original edges of the cube mesh. The reason why this was done is because, when applying a Sub-Surf modifier to a cube, it deforms it, making it look like an odd cylinder. So, adding loop cuts and bringing them, really tight to the original edges of the cube, can bring back it's shape. Once all that's done, I applied the su

Compositions in Art

Image
Compositions in Art & Photos Compositions in art & photography involves in framing a scene or photo. Specifically, placing elements in a photo or video and how it'll help the audience guide themselves to view the main element of said scene or photo.  There are many different types of compositions and techniques and, I'll list them below; Centre Centre composition is a basic type of composition. Photos with centre composition can create symmetry which can make the audience easy to see.  The picture above is my take with a centre composition. It is not perfect and the log at the left has ruined it but, I didn't have enough space in my garden to move around so, this is the best one I could take. As you can see, there's the TARDIS and the Doctor in the middle of the shot, and we see the some Daleks at the back. The log at the left ruins the centre composition so, if I were to to this next time, I'd probably move the TARDIS & the Doctor figures to the centre
