Harry101UK is a 3D Artist, in the UK. Harry is most known for his animations based on the memorable video game franchise, Portal. Harry101UK is most known for his "Meet the Cores" franchise which is a parody of the popular video game trailers for Team Fortress 2.
Harry is also known for parodying famous songs & making them Portal-themed. "This is Aperture" being one of them, which is a parody of a song from The Nightmare Before Christmas, "This is Halloween".
Why his work inspires me
One of the main reasons why his work is such a huge deal to me is that, he's a huge inspiration in becoming a 3D Artist as well. His work, gives me an energy jolt into using Source Filmmaker myself, and I do enjoy using the software, despite how old & buggy it is. I plan to become an animator for short films. Here's some of my work;
Andrew Stanton
Andrew Stanton is a Director, Screenwriter & Animator at Pixar. As a Director, Andrew's work is most known for, WALL-E, Finding Nemo, Finding Dory. I find that the work he does, especially for WALL-E, inspires me to be an animator myself.
Why his work inspires me?
When I watched WALL-E when I was a child, I was immediately hooked into the character & the story. The animation in, WALL-E itself was really captivating to see & how it all came together, it really captured my goal to becoming an animator.
Brad Bird
Brad Bird is another animator, director & voice actor at Pixar, who inspires me in becoming an animator. He's most known for, The Iron Giant, The Incredibles & Incredibles 2.
Why his work inspires me?
Bird's work in the Incredibles franchise, which is another childhood treasure for me, really gave me the energy to work as an animator.
Sculpting in Blender In Blender, our teacher showed us the sculpting tab. The Sculpting Tab in Blender is used to sculpt meshes, mainly for making realistic human models or for adding details to food models like odd crevices to a doughnut. Before getting used to Blender's Sculpting Tab, we messed around with many of the sculpting tools such as the inflate, etc., And then, for a little task, we had to have two cube meshes in the viewport. Then, I renamed both meshes, one naming "cube_low" and the other "cube_high". Then I selected mesh "cube_high", added in a Sub-Surf Modifier, and added loop cuts and brought them right to the original edges of the cube mesh. The reason why this was done is because, when applying a Sub-Surf modifier to a cube, it deforms it, making it look like an odd cylinder. So, adding loop cuts and bringing them, really tight to the original edges of the cube, can bring back it's shape. Once all that's done, I applied the su...
Shot Sizes Shot Sizes are used to help set the scene in films & TV, its used very frequently to help people guide themselves in what's happening in a scene, but the shot sizes must be perfect or else the audience will not know what's happening or find it uncomfortable watching. There are many different shot sizes which can be conveniently used for certain scenes. I'll explain the different types of shot sizes; Extreme Long (Wide) Shot Extreme Long Shots are used at the start of films to set the scene. Usually, these types of scenes would be filmed from a distance. If the shot's filmed at a city it would be the outsides of a city or suburbs. If a character's in it, they'd usually be very small. In this example, we see an adventurer, walking in the snow and there's huge mountains around him, the vast sky above him & the adventurer is very small. This shot is used to set the scene where an adventurer is walking in the snow and there's huge mounta...
TARDIS Compositing Project Plan/Idea I've seen several renders of people compositing their TARDIS models on shots from various models from Doctor Who, even on-set photos. I sometimes see TARDIS composite renders in other movies, such as Bladerunner 2049 . I wanted to do something a little different by taking actual photos of Leicester City Centre, and composite my TARDIS 3d model in those photos instead. I asked my friend, Bhadir ( bhadir.jpg on Instagram), who is a photographer and he is able to help me out with this project. Unfortunately, he is studying in London but, when he's able to come to Leicester, we'll be able to take some photos of the city centre. Bhadir has advised me to consider doing a "recce" (reconnaissance), which means surveying the area to get a good idea of what the it is, how we could take the photo, etc,. from my understanding and I do agree with him. As I'm not fully clear on how a reconnaissance is done for photography, I'll ...
